Illustration Friday -"RUN"-

This is my first submission to Illustration Friday, a very cool online art community. The theme of this week's illustration is "RUN". I tried to capture the atmosphere of an Italian afternoon during a child's game of hide and seek. Feel free to leave your critiques and comments. Ciao.

Very nice! I like the grunginess of the walls - really gives the illo the feeling of dirty back alleys :)

BTW, did you use paint, crayons...?

love the mix of seaminess and beauty. the angle adds even more to the motion of the runner. great job!

Hartini, usually I paint with dry acrylics on black cardboard. In this case I drew the illo by hand on a black paper, then I scanned it and painted digitally with a rough paintbrush as an experiment. I guess it worked! Thanks for the feedback.

...bello, hai reso l'idea del vicolo di un paesino italiano!
(io vivo in un paesino del sud italia - solo che sono pochi i bambini che giocano per strada)
ciao, frà

Welcome to Illustration Friday!

Great first time approach to the topic! The dramatic angles, the realism mixed with the cartoon-style characters... all very nice elements that work together!

Nothing to critique, I love it! The Hide N' Seek concept with the kid running for a place to go unnoticed is strengthened by the askew angle.

Marvellous, it remembres me Venice's calli, so narrow and houses so high.
